May 1st, 2011, is May Day, Hawaiian Lei Day, Silver Star Day, World Laughter Day, Labor Day (Mexico), International Bereaved Mother's Day, National Infertility Survival Day, May Day, Keep Kids Alive! Drive 25 Day, Loyalty Day, Mother Goose Day, Law Day, School Principal's Day, and National Chocolate Parfait Day.

Is your Maypole ready? Today is May Day.

Since 1928, Hawaiians have worn leis on May 1st, saying, "May Day is Lei Day." Happy Hawaiian Lei Day.

Silver Star Day honors wounded U.S. service men and women. Some states recognize this holiday, and momentum is growing to declare Silver Star Day a national holiday.

International Bereaved Mother's Day honors women who have experienced the worst pain imaginable - the loss of a child. National Infertility Survival Day recognizes women who have trouble conceiving. These holidays are meant to offer support to women who find this time of year especially difficult, with so much focus on Mother's Day.

The fifth annual Keep Kids Alive! Drive 25 Day is a plea to all drivers to slow down on residential streets.

"World peace through laughter" - what a wonderful idea. Celebrate World Laughter Day.
