Indianapolis 500, Rogation Sunday, Ascension of Baha'u'llah, more

May 29th, 2011 is the Indianapolis 500, Rogation Sunday, Ascension of Baha'u'llah, and International Day of UN Peacekeepers.

Today marks another exciting run of the Indianapolis 500, a famous 500-mile race around a 2.5-mile track.

Rogation Sunday is celebrated on the fifth Sunday after Easter. It is a time to celebrate dependence on God for the miracles of growth and harvest.

Followers of the Baha'i faith celebrate the Ascension of Baha'u'llah on May 29th, the anniversary of the death of the founder of Baha'i in 1892.

The United Nations states: 'All too often, in post-conflict societies where the rule of law has collapsed, civilians are arrested, spend years in detention under inhumane conditions, and never see a courtroom. UN peacekeeping is working on all fronts to redress these injustices and restore the rule of law." Take a moment to honor the International Day of UN Peacekeepers.
