Frog Jumping Day, Tulip Day, Blame Someone Else Day, more

May 13th, 2011 is Frog Jumping Day, Tulip Day, Blame Someone Else Day, Friday the 13th, and National Apple Pie Day.

Frog Jumping Day is here, inspired by Mark Twain's short story, "The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County." The story is also known as "The Notorious Jumping Frog of Calaveras County" or "Jim Smiley and His Jumping Frog" (original title).

Tulip Day is a lovely way to celebrate spring. Send ecards to your friends, then gather a tulip bouquet for your table.

The first Friday the 13th of the year is always Blame Someone Else Day. Today nothing is your fault. Beware the 14th, however, because reality may set in.

Do you suffer from paraskevidekatriaphobia? If so, Friday the 13th may be a good day to call in sick and stay in bed. Just hope the headboard doesn't crash down on you.

In the United States we like to talk about baseball, hot dogs and apple pie, but apple pie originated in Europe. Oh well. Celebrate National Apple Pie Day.
