Great American Grump Out, Midori no Hi, Star Wars Day, more

May 4th, 2011 is Great American Grump Out, Midori no Hi, Youth Day, Intergalactic Star Wars Day, Bird Day, International Respect for Chickens Day, Occupational Safety and Health Professionals Day, and National Candied Orange Peel Day.

Great American Grump Out is an opportunity to dial down the displeasure. Navigate your day with no negative comments, no attitude, no eye rolls, and see what happens!

Midori no Hi or Greenery Day in Japan is dedicated to nature and the environment. Until 2006, this holiday was celebrated on April 29th, the birthday of former Emperor Showa.

Youth Day in China began with youth protests in 1919, due to dissatisfaction with the Treaty of Versailles. The holiday became official in 1949.

On Intergalactic Star Wars Day, May the Fourth be with you! Bad pun, right?

Bird Day has been celebrated since 1894. Grab your binoculars and head outside!
