Purim, Holi, Swallows Return to Capistrano, more

March 19th, 2011, is the first day of Purim, Holi, Swallows Return to San Juan Capistrano Day, Let's Laugh Day, National Quilting Day, and National Chocolate Caramel Day.

Today is the first day of Purim, the most festive of Jewish traditions. Celebrants exchange gifts, drink wine, and wear masks and costumes.

Today is also Holi, the festival of colors. During this ancient Indian festival, people spray colored water on each other.

Look to the skies if you live in California. It's Swallows Return to San Juan Capistrano Day!

Who cares about the origin of Let's Laugh Day? Just let loose and laugh!

Relax and enjoy the simple pleasure of National Quilting Day.

It doesn't get much better than National Chocolate Caramel Day. Yummy.

The Holiday Whiz advice mashup: Toss colored water on your friends, then laugh with them. Design a quilt square featuring swallows. Have a glass of wine and some chocolate caramel.
