Plant a Flower Day, Genealogy Day, Baked Scallops Day

March 12, 2011, is Plant a Flower Day, Genealogy Day, and Baked Scallops Day.

Plant a Flower Day is a great time to add some beauty to the world, either in your kitchen or in your flower beds.

Celebrate Your Name Week concludes on Saturday with Genealogy Day. Do some research online or, better yet, ask older loved ones for some interesting family stories.

If you're not allergic to shellfish, celebrate Baked Scallops Day.

The Holiday Whiz advice mashup: Purchase and plant some exotic flower seeds, then research the origins of that particular flower. Try fertilizing the soil with a small amount of leftover baked scallop.
