Make Up Your Own Holiday Day, Earth Hour, Purple Day, more

March 26th, 2011, is Make Up Your Own Holiday Day, Earth Hour, the first day of the National Cherry Blossom Festival, Purple Day, and National Nougat Day.

Celebrate Make Up Your Own Holiday Day. How to celebrate? You decide!

Tonight at 8:30 p.m., your local time, turn off your lights and honor Earth Hour. Think about what you can do to sustain or improve our planet.

Today is the first day of the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, D.C. The event continues through April 10th.

Wear purple for Purple Day in support of epilepsy awareness. Epilepsy affects about one percent of people.

National Nougat Day is as good a time as any to splurge on your favorite candy bar - with nougat, of course.
