Curlew Day, Lips Appreciation Day, more

March 16th, 2011, is Curlew Day, Lips Appreciation Day, St. Urho's Day, Everything You Do Is Right Day, Freedom of Information Day, National Goddard Day, Wellderly Day, and National Artichoke Hearts Day.

Celebrate Curlew Day! What's a curlew? A curlew is a water bird, found in coastal areas all over the world. What's a henway? About 3 pounds.

For Lips Appreciation Day, kiss someone you love, use some lip balm, or send this wacky ecard.

St. Urho's Day honors a mythical saint who drove the grasshoppers out of Finland, saving the grape crop. Wear Royal Purple and Nile Green (maybe using some leftover Mardi Gras regalia).

As a counterbalance to yesterday's Everything You Think Is Wrong Day, today is Everything You Do Is Right Day.

Today is the 13th annual Freedom of Information Day, celebrating the public's right to know.

National Goddard Day commemorates the date on which Robert Goddard achieved the first liquid-propelled rocket flight.

I can't find much solid information about Wellderly Day, presumably celebrated every March 16th, but will include it here because our elderly deserve to be well, to be respected, and to be honored.

Artichokes have antioxidants! Celebrate Artichoke Hearts Day.
