Royal Wedding, Showa no Hi, Hairball Awareness Day, Arbor Day, more

April 29th, 2011, is The Royal Wedding, Showa no Hi, Hairball Awareness Day, Arbor Day, International Dance Day, and National Shrimp Scampi Day.

Unless you live under a rock, meaning with no internet, meaning you wouldn't be reading this, you know that today is The Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. Enjoy the day if you love pomp and circumstance, rejoice that it's almost behind you if you're tired of the whole thing.

Showa no Hi is the birthday of the Japanese Emperor, marking the beginning of Golden Week.

Sorry to gross you out, but today is Hairball Awareness Day. Be aware. Be very aware.

Plant a seed in honor of Arbor Day - "Planting the seeds of tomorrow today."

Even if you haven't been invited to the Royal Wedding reception, take a turn or two around your room in celebration of International Dance Day.

Barring food allergies, it's hard to go wrong with shrimp, garlic, butter, and pasta. Happy National Shrimp Scampi Day.
