Mashable celebrates the second annual Social Media Day on June 30th. Meetups are scheduled around the world - maybe even in your neck of the woods. On the last day of June, Leap Second Adjustment Time, the International Earth Rotation and Reference System Service determines if it's necessary to add or subtract a second from Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) to align with astronomical time. In June 2011 no change will be made. Leap Second Adjustment Time also occurs on the last day of December.
June 30th is Meteor Watch Day. This day isn't expected to be meteor-rich, but you just never know. Look up now and then!
