Best Friends Day, Name Your Poison Day, Upsy Daisy Day, more

June 8th, 2011 is Best Friends Day, National Name Your Poison Day, Upsy Daisy Day, World Oceans Day, and Clean Air Day.

Whether you have one special friend or a group of BFFs, do something special in honor of Best Friends Day. Start by sending an e-card to give them the warm fuzzies.

On National Name Your Poison Day, what would you like to drink? I could go for an Amaretto Sour. Cheers!

As a Mom, I would schedule Upsy Daisy Day during the school year to coax my tween daughter out of bed. Oh well. Here's wishing everyone a cheerful, upsy-daisy day.

Sure wish I could be in New York City today. In honor of World Oceans Day the Empire State Building will be lit in white, blue, and purple. Lovely! This UN-created event has been celebrated since 2009. The theme for World Oceans Day 2011 is "Our oceans: greening our future."

Today Canadians observe Clean Air Day, "a celebration of environmentally-friendly activities that promote clean air and good health across Canada." Shouldn't the rest of us follow suit?
