Shavuot, Boone Day, Chocolate Ice Cream Day

June 7th, 2011 is the first day of Shavuot, Boone Day, and National Chocolate Ice Cream Day. As days go here at The Holiday Whiz, not a lot of celebrating going on!

In 2011 Shavuot, the Feast of the Weeks, begins June 7th at sundown and ends June 9th at sundown. Shavuot  means "weeks," as in the seven weeks between Passover and Shavuot. During this time God re-gives the Torah and Jews renew their acceptance of God's gift.

Boone Day is celebrated in Kentucky each year on this date, as the anniversary of Daniel Boone's first sighting of present-day Kentucky, USA.

Does anyone need advice about how to celebrate National Chocolate Ice Cream Day? Just grab a scoop and get to it!
