July 2nd, 2012, is World UFO Day, CARICOM Day, Heroes Day (Zambia), and National Anisette Day.
World UFO Day used to be celebrated on two different dates until the WUFODO (World UFO Day Organization) declared July 2nd to be definitive. World UFO Day is meant to raise awareness about the existence of UFOs and also encourage governments to declassify information they have about alien visitors.
CARICOM stands for the Caribbean Community, and the first Monday in July is CARICOM Day. The day commemorates the Treaty of Chaguaramas, signed in 1973 by the prime ministers of Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, and Trinidad and Tobago.
Heroes Day is celebrated in Zambia on the first Monday in July. The day commemorates Zambia's independence from Britain, enjoyed since 1964.
Anisette is a licorice-flavored liqueur, made with anise seed. Some popular drinks made with anisette include the Fuel Injection, Cafe de Paris, and the Italia. Celebrate National Anisette Day.
