Hello Day, Television Day, Gingerbread Day, more

November 21st, 2011, is World Hello Day, UN World Television Day, National Day of the Bible, Gingerbread Day, and Pumpkin Pie Day.

World Hello Day began in response to the conflict between Israel and Egypt in late 1973. To participate, simply greet ten people today.

The United Nations promotes UN World Television Day in recognition of television's impact on society, notably "alerting world attention to conflicts and threats to peace and security and its potential role in sharpening the focus on other major issues, including economic and social issues."

National Day of the Bible is observed on the Monday before Thanksgiving. One recommendation of the National Bible Association is to meet in a public place at noon on this date for scriptural readings.

Ah, gingerbread. A quintessential holiday scent. Ushering in the holiday season is Gingerbread Day.

Pumpkin Pie Day is observed both today and Christmas Day, December 25th. Why not have pumpkin pie twice?
