Backgammon Day, Coast Guard Day, Chocolate Chip Day

August 4th, 2011, is  Backgammon Day, Coast Guard Day, and National Chocolate Chip Day.

On Backgammon Day, enjoy this two-player classic that dates back to Mesopotamia. Do you remember the rules?

Coast Guard Day honors the U.S. Coast Guard, who guard our shores and waterways. These days they also assist with Homeland Security.

Today is National Chocolate Chip Day - not the cookie, just the chip. Do whatever you want with those chips, including eating 'em straight out of the bag!
