August 29th, 2011, is According to Hoyle Day; International Day Against Nuclear Tests; National More Herbs, Less Salt Day; and National Lemon Juice Day.

August 29th is International Day Against Nuclear Tests, sponsored by the United Nations. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon writes: "Every day, more and more people are viewing both nuclear tests and nuclear weapons as dangerous relics of the Cold War, long overdue for permanent retirement."

National More Herbs, Less Salt Day is an inspirational holiday for all. Salt adds flavor, but too much salt has negative  health consequences. Herbs add flavor and offer health benefits. You do the math.
