I think every day should be Don't Step on a Bee Day, but someone decided to make it an official holiday every July 10th.
In honor of Clerihew Day, try writing your own clerihew. A clarihew is a form of verse originated by Edmund Clerihew Bentley, featuring an AABB rhyme scheme, with the subject matter in the first line. An authentic clerihew is humorous. Here's an example by Bentley himself:
Edward the Confessor
Slept under the dresser.
When that began to pall
He slept in the hall.
Independence Day is celebrated in the Bahamas on July 10th, commemorating their independence from Britain since 1973.
Today is National Pina Colada Day, so celebrate with a classically tropical rum and pineapple delight. Sing "The Pina Colada Song" if you like.
