Although Second Half of the New Year Day was observed yesterday, June 2nd is the true Halfway Point of 2011. At noon on July 2nd, we are 182.5 days into the year, exactly half of the total 365.
Don't forget to remember that thing you've been forgetting, in honor of I Forgot Day. The theme song for this day could be either the clean version of Cee Lo Greene's recent hit, "Forget You," or that other song.... You know the one..... um..... Oh, never mind. I forgot.
World UFO Day used to be celebrated on two different dates until the WUFODO (World UFO Day Organization) declared July 2nd to be definitive. World UFO Day is meant to raise awareness about the existence of UFOs and also encourage governments to declassify information they have about alien visitors.

The United Nations sponsors the International Day of Cooperatives on July 2nd. In the words of UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon: "I invite young people to explore the benefits of pursuing cooperative enterprise and other forms of social entrepreneurship. At the same time, I encourage the cooperative movement to engage with youth, in a spirit of dialogue and mutual understanding."
