On National Hop-a-Park Day, visit a variety of parks in your area. They may have organized events, or maybe not, but you and your family are bound to have fun and discover new reasons to love your local parks.

East Dublin, Georgia hosts the 2011 Summer Redneck Games today. The event started in 1996 as a joke and a way to raise money for charity, because jokes were circulating about the rednecks in Atlanta planning to host the 1996 Olympic Games. Nice way to turn a potential insult into fun and fundraising! The Summer Redneck Games include the Armpit Serenade, Bobbin' for Pigs' Feet, Mudpit Belly Flop, music, and more redneck fun. As the event's organizers like to say, it's "more fun than indoor plumbing." Here's a sample from 2009:
Bald In-Bald Out Day is supposedly observed on the second Saturday in July, but information is scarce. Nonetheless, everyone should be encouraged to be comfortable with their appearance, with or without hair.

Followers of the Bahai faith observe the Martyrdom of the Bab today. The martyrdom took place in Tabriz in 1850.
