Twelfth Night, George Washington Carver Day, more

January 5th, 2014, is National Bird Day, Twelfth Night, George Washington Carver Day, Guru Govind Singh Jayanti, and National Whipped Cream Day.

National Bird Day is a time to appreciate birds, whether in the wild or as valued members of your family.

Twelfth Night marks the final night of the Christmas season. It is the night before Twelfth Day, known as  Epiphany. Some say now is the time to put away the holiday decorations.

George Washington Carver Day, the anniversary of Carver's death in 1943, honors the "Wizard of Tuskegee" who found many new uses for peanuts and other everyday items.

Guru Govind Singh Jayanti is a celebration of the birth of the tenth Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Govind Singh.

National Whipped Cream Day commemorates the birth date of Reddi-wip founder, Aaron "Bunny" Lapin.
