Chinese New Year, Inspire Your Heart with Art Day, more

January 31st, 2014, is Chinese New Year, Backward Day, Inspire Your Heart with Art Day, Hell Is Freezing Over Day, Preschool Fitness Day, Independence Day (Nauru), National Brandy Alexander Day, and Eat Brussels Sprouts Day.

This year, the main celebration of Chinese New Year takes place on January 31st. Welcome to the year 4712, the Year of the Horse in the Chinese Calendar. Festivities include fireworks, dragon dancing, and lion dancing (not line dancing). People clean their houses thoroughly, to drive away bad fortune.
