Sally Ride Day, Blueberry Cheesecake Day, more

May 26th, 2013, is Sally Ride Day, Dzien Matki, Independence Day (Georgia), Independence Day (Guyana), and National Blueberry Cheesecake Day.

Sally Ride Day, celebrated on her birth date, honors the first American woman to go into space. Her historic feat took place in 1983, aboard the Space Shuttle Challenger.

Dzien Matki, otherwise known as Mother's Day, is celebrated today in Poland.

The Republic of Georgia observes Independence Day on May 26th, celebrating 22 years of freedom.

Guyana observes Independence Day on May 26th, celebrating independence since 1966.
