May 21st, 2013, is National Memo Day, "I Need a Patch for That" Day, National Waitstaff Day, World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, and Naval Day.
In honor of National Memo Day, please take a memo: Use less paper. Write your memos electronically!
"I Need a Patch for That" Day is here. You may have a patch to help you quit smoking, to administer pain meds, or to provide birth control. I'd like to have a patch to increase my net worth. Oh, and my daughter would like to have a supermodel patch.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, more than 2 million Americans work as waiters and waitresses. (Remember when the politically correct crowd wanted us to call them waitrons?) Celebrate National Waitstaff Day by leaving a big tip for a deserving waiter or waitress.
The United Nations established the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development in 2001. The day is "an opportunity to deepen our understanding of the values of cultural diversity and to learn to 'live together' better."
Chileans celebrate Navy Day today, to honor the memory of those who fought in the Iquique Naval Combat of 1879.
