Eta Aquarids Meteor Shower 2013

The 2013 Eta Aquarids Meteor Shower, active from April 19th to May 28th, is expected to be at its peak from May 5th to May 7th in the hours before dawn. Viewing will be optimal this year, not obstructed by the waning crescent moon.

Meteor showers are named for the constellation they appear to be near. The Eta Aquarids Meteor Shower appears near a star in the constellation Aquarius. This meteor shower contains particles from Halley's Comet, which last entered our inner solar system in 1986.
