Organize Your Home Office Day, Earmuffs Day, more

March 13th, 2012, is Organize Your Home Office Day, Earmuffs Day, Jewel Day, National Open an Umbrella Indoors Day, Good Samaritan Involvement Day, K9 Veterans Day, and National Coconut Torte Day.

Organize Your Home Office Day is the second Tuesday in March. Set up a convenient filing system and throw away some stuff you no longer need. Check out my system for managing quarterly receipts.

Jewel Day is the perfect time to flaunt your jewels or give jewels to someone you love. Your favorite blogger likes rubies!

National Open an Umbrella Indoors Day is a holiday to celebrate at your own risk. Many people believe that it's bad luck to open an umbrella indoors. Of course, if you need to open an umbrella inside your house, bad luck is already in your midst.

Good Samaritan Involvement Day mourns the death of Catherine "Kitty" Genovese, who was stabbed to death while thirty-eight people stood by, not wanting to get involved. In the memory of Ms. Genovese, get involved if you can help! At the very least, dial 911.

K9 Veterans Day commemorates the founding of the United States K9 Corps in 1942.
