March 12th, 2012, is National Napping Day, Plant a Flower Day, Girl Scouts Day, Commonwealth Day, Independence Day (Maritius), Baked Scallops Day, and Eskimo Pie Day.
The Monday after Daylight Savings Time is National Napping Day. No explanation needed, right?
Today is Plant a Flower Day. I may not get around to a literal celebration for this holiday, but I'll gladly step outside and gather a few newly-bloomed daffodils! Spring is springing in St. Louis.
Girl Scouts Day is always observed on March 12th. In 2012, March 12th is the 100th birthday of the Girl Scouts. Happy Birthday!
Commonwealth Day is observed by the Commonwealth of Nations, all of which used to be part of the British Empire.
Mauritius observes Independence Day on March 12th, celebrating independence since 1968.
Baked Scallops Day is the perfect time to enjoy some low-fat, delicious seafood. If you decide to sautee them, I won't tell!
Eskimo Pie Day honors a popular ice cream treat - ice cream on a stick, encased in a chocolate shell. What's not to like?
