Ridvan, Kindergarten Day, more

April 21st, 2013, is Ridvan, Kindergarten Day, San Jacinto Day, and National Chocolate-Covered Cashews Day.

Sunset brings the onset of Ridvan, the Bahai festival that celebrates the time Baha'u'llah spent in the garden of Ridvan.

Kindergarten Day is celebrated on the birth date of Friedrich Froebel, the man who started the first kindergarten in Germany in 1837. "Kindergarten" translates literally from German as "children's garden."

San Jacinto Day commemorates a battle in 1836 between Texas and Mexico, in Texas' fight for independence from Mexico.

Nothing beats a perfect blend of sweet and savory. Celebrate National Chocolate-Covered Cashews Day!
