Read a Road Map Day, Go for Broke Day, more

April 5th, 2011, is Read a Road Map Day, Go for Broke Day, One Day Without Shoes Day, National Caramel Day, National Raisin and Spice Bar Day, and National Deep Dish Pizza Day.

In honor of National Read a Road Map Day, ditch the GPS and hit the road with an actual foldable map. Who knows where you might go? And when you get there, imagine the fun of refolding your map.

Go for Broke Day is a time to take a risk. Maybe you'll find yourself "winning," much like the famous actor who was recently fired from his hit television show!

One Day Without Shoes is "the day we raise awareness of the impact a pair of shoes can have on a child's life by taking off our own." Are you brave enough?

Caramel is versatile and delicious. How will you enjoy caramel on National Caramel Day?

National Raisin and Spice Bar Day is April 5th, even though raisin and spice bars seem (to me) to be more of an autumn treat.

I'm in St. Louis, where we like our pizza crust thin, but I'll still mention that today honors Chicago's favorite, National Deep Dish Pizza Day.
