Kadooment Day, Braham Pie Day, more

August 2nd, 2013, is Kadooment Day, Lady of the Angels Day, Braham Pie Day, and National Ice Cream Sandwich Day.

Citizens of Barbados celebrate Kadooment Day today. They harvest and sell their crops in a parade and carnival atmosphere.

Costa Rica celebrates Lady of the Angels Day, honoring the appearance of a young girl called La Negrita.

Braham Pie Day is observed on the first Friday in August in Braham, Minnesota. The festivities include a pie art competition. Art may feature "eating pie, making pie, harvesting or growing pie ingredients, edible pie, mathematical pi, or celebrating Braham, the Homemade Pie Capital of Minnesota."

National Ice Cream Sandwich Day is always observed on August 2nd, helping us through a hot day near the end of summer in the Northern Hemisphere.
