Small Business Saturday, Chitlin Strut, D.B. Cooper Day, more

November 24th, 2012, is Small Business Saturday, Buy Nothing Day, International Aura Awareness Day, Celebrate Your Unique Talent Day, Chitlin Strut, D.B. Cooper Day, and Evolution Day.

November 24th is Celebrate Your Unique Talent Day. If you have a unique talent that involves chitlins, by some crazy twist of fate, see the holiday that follows!

Salley, South Carolina hosts the 47th annual Chitlin Strut, featuring a Chitlin Queen, Hawg Calling, and the Chitlin Strut Idol Contest. Chitlins, or chitterlings, are pig intestines, usually boiled or fried.

Today marks the 41st anniversary of skyjacker D.B. Cooper's famous leap from a 747, wearing a business suit and a parachute, plummeting toward earth with $200,000 in cash. He has never been found, alive or dead, but the case is apparently closed. Today is D.B. Cooper Day.

Evolution Day commemorates the anniversary of the publication of Charles Darwin's Origin of Species (On The Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or The Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life) in 1859.
