Profess Your Love Day, Belmont Stakes, more

June 9th, 2012, is Profess Your Love Day, Belmont Stakes, Donald Duck Day, and National Strawberry Rhubarb Pie Day.

The 143rd running of the Belmont Stakes takes place today in New York, USA. While many people are disappointed that I'll Have Another has been scratched from the race, meaning a Triple Crown champion will not be seen this year, the race promises to be exciting. Contenders include Street Life, Unstoppable U, Union Rags, Guyana Star Dweej, Optimizer, and My Adonis. Horses sure have unique names.

Donald Duck made his cartoonic debut on this date in 1934. Celebrate Donald Duck Day by enjoying some vintage duck!
