Get Ready Day, Eat an Apple Day, more

September 17th, 2013, is Get Ready Day, Constitution Day, Pledge Across America, National Apple Dumpling Day, and International Eat an Apple Day.

Get Ready Day is observed on the third Tuesday in September. It's time to do whatever you do to prepare for the upcoming flu season.

Constitution Day commemorates the signing of the United States Constitution in 1787.

Pledge Across America takes place on Constitution Day or the nearest school day. Say the Pledge of Allegiance at the appointed time, along with Americans across the country.

I've never had an apple dumpling. Maybe it's time to rectify that situation, since today is National Apple Dumpling Day.

Maybe you're not in the mood for apple dumplings, but you still like apples. Have one straight from the tree or in some other recipe, because today is International Eat an Apple Day.
