Mustard Day, Twins Days, Watermelon Day, more

August 3rd, 2013, brings National Mustard Day, Twins Days, Mindfulness Day, Colonization Martyrs' Day, Independence Day (Niger), Armed Forces Day (Equatorial Guinea), and Watermelon Day.

The National Mustard Museum in Middleton, Wisconsin, USA, celebrates National Mustard Day today. Activities include mustard bowling, fishing for mustard, painting with mustard, the spinning wheel of mustard fortune, mustard tasting, and more. Don't miss the frozen mustard custard!

Twins Days take place on the first full weekend in August in Twinsburg, Ohio. All multiples and their families are invited to attend.

Mindfulness Day is a Zen Buddhist holiday "for being mindful that you, and all that is, are in the process of transformation."

Guinea-Bissau celebrates Colonization Martyrs' Day on August 3rd. The day is also known as Pidjiguiti Martyrs’ Day, remembering those who were killed at Pidjiguiti.

Niger observes Independence Day on August 3rd, celebrating independence from France.

Equatorial Guinea observes Armed Forces Day on August 3rd.

Watermelon Day is a great excuse - as if you needed one - to eat watermelon. Eat a lot if you want, because it's mostly water and all delicious. Even the rind is good, pickled.
