February 13th, 2013, is Madly in Love with Me Day, Get a Different Name Day, I Value our Friendship Day, Waste-Not Wednesday, Ash Wednesday, Employee Legal Awareness Day, and Tortellini Day.
Madly in Love with Me Day isn't about conceit or self-absorption. Christine Arylo of Expanding Possibility, LLC, writes, "While it is true that women and girls have more equality and self esteem than ever before, something isn't changing. We believe that something is self-love.... knowing that you can do anything doesn't stop women and girls from beating themselves up, putting themselves into abusive relationships or hating and destroying their bodies." Loving yourself means protecting yourself and taking care of yourself.
Are you less than thrilled with the name your parents gave you? If so, take advantage of Get a Different Name Day. For inspiration, check out my list of celebrity baby names!
I Value our Friendship Day is a nice time to meet an old friend for lunch, make a phone call to catch up, or at least send an e-greeting.
Wednesday of Go Green Week is Waste-Not Wednesday. Try your best to consume less, waste less, and recycle more.
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent for many Christians. Some attend services and receive ashes on their foreheads, representing mortality, sorrow for sins, change, and forgiveness.
Employee Legal Awareness Day stresses the importance of educating employees about relevant legal issues.
Enjoy a stuffed ring-shaped pasta, reminisent of promise rings or wedding bands, while romance is in the air this week. Celebrate Tortellini Day!
